Safety and appropriate use
Protocol names describe available device settings, not a promise that every condition is suitable for laser treatment. Fractures, infections, wounds and tendon or ligament injuries need veterinary assessment and a complete care plan.
Read Healix safety information before treatment. Do not direct the device toward eyes. Follow the manual’s contraindications and precautions.
Healix’s legacy site describes a 75W total system rating; the Performance Footing comparison uses 1,300 mW output. These are different reported measures, so we do not equate them. Confirm optical output, peak power and laser classification against current manufacturer documentation.
Questrian Pro questions,
answered.
What is Questrian Pro designed for?
Questrian Pro is a portable, rechargeable equine laser with 12 anatomy-specific protocols and touchscreen controls. The protocols are programs created by veterinarians, written so owners, therapists and clinics can follow them themselves at the barn. Your veterinarian should still determine whether laser therapy fits your horse’s care plan.
Which protocols are included in Questrian Pro?
The 12 vet-created settings cover feet; hocks; tendons and ligaments; contaminated wounds; edema and congestion; shins and fractures; clean wounds; muscle fatigue; soft-tissue injuries; back and shoulders; stifles; and knees and fetlocks. Each is a guided program you select on the touchscreen. These are device setting names, not evidence that laser therapy is appropriate for every condition. Injuries, wounds, infections and fractures require veterinary assessment.
Which wavelengths does Questrian Pro use?
Questrian Pro uses 470, 635, 850 and 905 nm wavelengths, with continuous-wave and pulsed treatment options. Its wavelength set differs from Questrian Recovery. Follow the current device manual for protocol selection, treatment settings and wavelength-appropriate protective eyewear.
How long is a Questrian Pro treatment session?
Questrian Pro has adjustable treatment sessions rather than Recovery’s three fixed-duration modes. The appropriate session depends on the selected protocol and your horse’s care plan. Use the device manual and veterinary guidance rather than applying one treatment time to every anatomical area or condition.
How is Questrian Pro different from Questrian Recovery?
Questrian Pro offers 12 targeted equine protocols, touchscreen controls and adjustable sessions. Recovery — new for 2026 — uses a broad emitting plate, two buttons and three fixed modes for routine post-exercise muscle support. For a diagnosed tendon, ligament, hoof or wound condition, seek veterinary advice; Pro’s protocol options do not replace diagnosis or rehabilitation.
What comes with Questrian Pro, and is shipping free?
Questrian Pro ships free to the lower 48 states and comes with a carrying case, charging cable and the vet-created program guides for its 12 protocols, so you can run a session yourself without prior training. Healix also provides lifetime technical support and a one-year manufacturer warranty, subject to the warranty terms. Use it only in an appropriate environment, follow the manual and wear protective eyewear; do not aim the device toward eyes.
